Atheist, Buddhist, and Christian

I played Atheist and got a game over. There were no replays.
I played Buddhist and it never ended. I just kept coming back as a duck and then a human again.
I played Christian and I chose the elevator that brings me down. The rapture never came.

Along with all those I got Mario Party DS. I like the variations in minigames. Some use the buttons, others use the stylus, and some even use the microphone. As usual it's better with multiple people, but luckily it's a single card multiplayer game so none of my friends need to get the cartridge to play with me. They need only connect through the wireless.-

What the? I have just now been linked to a trailer for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Strange combination, but then again, Marvel did combat Capcom. Violence is toned down so it can be rated T. I must admit though, the fighting while falling through the air looks kinda cool. http://worldscollide.com/

So Mario Party DS. There are other games in it besides the boards. There are puzzle games and such. The Pen Pals game is fun but hard when you're the team with the pens. Also, there is a story mode with boss minigames.

Probotector 4

So Contra 4. This has been a heck of an experience.
It first began with easy mode. "Consider this boot camp". Not too bad. 10 Lives. Let's you get back into your Contra groove and allows you to get used to the small changes such as the grappling hook. The first thing you notice is how great the weapons you pick up are. Also forward running levels have been included once again, and they can be the tougher levels. Once you've beaten level 7 though, things start to change. The game tells you that you must play at least Normal difficulty if you want to complete the game. But you now have Challenge mode available where you can earn yourself some lovely bonus content such as Contra & Super C for your continued gaming enjoyment, as well as more playable characters including my personal favorite, Probotector, the star of the German version of Contra, Probotector. "To probotect and serve". But by far the best thing you'll take from the challenges is strategy for use in the levels.
Now you move on to normal mode. "It may be called Normal, but this is no picnic". You were warned. 5 lives, faster enemies, falling boulders, and man-faced mutts. You can now play the full game, but good luck reaching levels 8 and 9. The first thing you notice is that your great weapon pick-ups are missing. Your weapons now have two levels of power. What you used in easy mode was of course the second level of power that you must collect two of a weapon to enable. Once you've finally managed to reach level 8 you'll wish you had another continue left. Once you've finally reached level 9, you'll wish you had all your continues left. When you've beaten the final boss, you will feel like a gaming master... until you remember that it's still only normal mode.
Onto hard mode. "Think you're a master of 2D action? Not anymore, you're not". 3 lives, and even faster enemies. So far that's all I've observed in this difficulty. If I actually manage to beat it on hard, I'll keep you updated.

Fatal Frame

Didn't have much time to play this before Natalie's roommate knocked the power out for an instant with the microwave, but what I played was pretty interesting. I was already aware of the game's reputation for being pretty creepy, and it didn't disappoint there. The atmosphere was unchanging, always remaining dark and tense. The slow pace of the game wasn't a bother because it only added to the suspense. Long periods of inaction heightened tension and made the quietest of sounds arouse moments of panic. The fighting system using the camera was a little unclear to me but I was still able to defend myself without taking any damage, so I can only imagine a few more ghost fights would have given me a chance to clear up the details I was fuzzy on. The game seemed mostly linear but certain story information was optional, such as listening to tape recordings. I'm hoping to continue playing when I get another chance and get more of the story and further into the action of the game.

Intro

And so I make another contribution to the blagosphere. This is where I'll be putting up my 590 weekly assignments, but anything pertaining to work on games will still be in my rarely updated, Frivolous Projects, with the rest of my work.
